Hello,
My name is Marie and I am a fiber artist.
It has become difficult to find quality, original, colorful clothing
and accessories, which sight and touch bring me pleasure. Making them myself
lets me know their true value, makes me sure I will wear them
and love them for a long time.
This led me to rediscover forgotten gestures, dyeing, spinning, weaving, knitting... I started looking at the world around me differently, I rediscovered colors that are not imposed to us by trendbooks, fibers considered too expensive that our body and heart appreciate. I learned to take my time to do things
the right way, to try, to change, to start back from scratch when I had to.

Quality
My creations are designed in order to be as sustainable as possible, provided they are carefully taken care of. When I spin my yarns, I make my best to make them resistant to wear. I had rather sew, by hand if necessary, than use glue. I choose quality materials, beautiful fibers that will not itch. All this takes much more time, but a beautiful object should not be a disposable one.
Ethics
As a craftwoman, I am subject to VAT, social contributions (Urssaf, Social security, retirement subscriptions), and company land taxes, and I am paying all these charges to keep in good standing with the French law.
Rue de la Laine's creations are all handmade in France and one of a kind.
